Bro, pp boi, dood. Thanks for doing this one man. First things first- lil pp boi or (:HIRSTIAN? Explain why of course.
“(:hristian is the official artist name, but y’all call me @lil_p_p_boi please. I love that shit.”
The first time I saw you live was as part of Pretty Boy Aaron’s set at Marlonpalooza this past summer. Was that the first time you met Marlon?
“It was the first time we met in person. He’d actually reached out before that cause he found my “SMILE” tape and liked it, but that was just on Twitter. I remember the first thing he said when we met in person was “damn bro, you low key sexy as FUCK.” Those were his exact words when we met, I remember. Then he farted and blacked out.”

Reason I’m asking about Marlon is because you guys, recently announced The Crown TX alongside some other dope Dallas based artists. A new music collective, which was whose idea?
“We were watching Soul Plane on the couch and Marlon said he’d always wanted to make a rap group. Fast forward about 3 months and the “Zzz” video dropped (now streaming on all major platforms wink, wink).”
How do you fit into The Crown TX?
Snacks.
How do you see these next couple years unfolding for yourself musically, that is? What are you aiming to accomplish?
“I’m going to do everything a very special friend and I planned to. Shit’s all going according to schedule.”
Is the music industry your only focus? If so why? If not- what are you mainly working towards dood?
“Nah. I just do stuff. Nothing’s as cool as realizing you can do something you didn’t think you could yesterday. And for fixated goals, things change all the time. And it feels like they change faster and faster every day. My main goal is give people a place to feel something. I don’t care if you’re mad, or happy or laughing or crying or just want to dance. I just want to give people a reliable and safe space to experience emotion. And in creating, I’m always expanding that space for myself as well. No matter how over our feelings we may be at times, they’re always there and they’re always fueling our actions. Nobody’s hard enough to escape that. I want to make art that helps people use there feelings for their benefit.
And I want to be rich as FUCK. That would be pretty dope.”

Switching just a bit back into your music most recently you dropped ‘No Rest’ however, I’m a bit more interested in your first ever upload on SoundCloud ‘Do Me A Favor.’ How did that track come to be?
That’s actually on the new project. I went all sexy mode on it. But a friend named Sharad produced that original version. I wrote the whole thing in under an hour (those are always the best ones). There’s a huge collective of electronic musicians in and around Denton under the label name “Glorp Studios” I started working with a lot of them and that came out in the process. And it’s TECHNICALLY not my first upload. If you’ve heard my FIRST upload to sc, we REALLY homies, cuz... iss bad lol.
As with a lot of artists- they have a ‘brand’ or something like that. Yours is somewhere between a buff bar-spitting emcee and smooth dancing, loose smiley faced t-shirt wearer. I have to ask- how did the smiley face on a t-shirt happen?
I was going to some event (I can’t remember what it was but it was in Dallas). I didn’t have anything nice to wear and I was seriously struggling financially. I was so worried about not looking cool that I decided to wear something stupid so I’d be forced to get over it or just go home. I picked a white tee out the drawer and drew a smiley face on it. I felt invincible. It still makes me feel like that.

Let’s say you’re going to be on a massive festival- what would you demand be on your rider?
“eXtreme Sour Patch Kids and they have to be refrigerated. And whoever’s reading this… untwist yo fuggin face and be open minded cause they slap SO MUCH FUCKING HARDER REFRIGERATED dog, I promise. Yo life hasn’t started yet if you haven’t had a bag of refrigerated eXtreme Sour Patch Kids. On Granny.”

“:)”
