Last Week in the Dallas Underground

Last Week in the Dallas Underground

This is our first in what’s going to be a recurring series. Aim of this is drop all things 214 underground and summarize it for you in one place. For all of you that want to stay up with what’s happening read down below as we hit some highlights of the past two weeks. If you made a move in the past two weeks (here looking back to the 31st of January and that week) and don’t spot it on here shoot an email to us at jon@goodgametalent.com and we’ll add some of your future work onto a future iteration of this series.

No Way Out of Texas. The Daily Ooze

The Daily Ooze completed its long awaited, wrestling/hip-hop palooza and to put it lightly- it was DOPE. A staple in all things Dallas underground for the past few years, it appears they are leveling up yet again. With performances from Gwapmizzle, Emotional Xan, and 10k Caash, three of the hardest hitters to rise to the top of the scene in recent years, it’s safe to say the music was tight. Those three alone would make a nice show, now throw in a full-size wrestling ring and professional wrestlers!? Exactly.

10k.Caash- Planet Swajjur

So, 2019 was a big year for 10k Caash, and that’s an understatement. Everything from touring with A$AP Rocky around Texas to gracing Def Jam with his signature on a deal, it’s a sure fact that he turnt the year up. As for 2020? He’s most definitely not stopping, his recent project “Planet Swajjur” is proof of this. The 10-track mixtape brings his signature, unorthodox, rapping style back to your ears and you love to hear it. Expect a big year from this one.

Jahn Dough- Obsidian

One of the best overall lyricist and writers in the city of Dallas (argue with us we’ll wait) dropped a new and clean cut titled “Obsidian.” Bar for bar this project went hard AF. Silky smooth production and verbal assists from the likes of Pat Ron and Helen Hailu definitely never hurt. Seriously though, go listen to “Better Than None.” That song will stay with your brain for a good minute.

Big Tape & Ace Papi- Plus (+)

A recent, Dallas, musical talent paired with somebody who’s produced all over the cities underground. We are talking about the pair that is Big Tape & Ace Papi . Their 5-track cut “Plus (+)” is Texas through and through. Booming yet laid-back production, hard yet low-key verses, loud yet self-aware, this is Texas. Need proof? Go listen to “Stella Rosa” then come back here. Have you done it yet? See, we told you.

Peep next weeks edition to cover what else has popped off in the underground scene. All love doods.
