Graham Malice- Danger: Drop Off
I still remember the first time I heard Graham Malice’s stuff. I was exhausted from a day of working and did the usual crash on the couch and check Twitter. I scrolled down for a bit and saw somebody re-post a link to his instrumental Danger: Depression. I must have kept that song on repeat for at least 5 hours while my ears and mind just got lost in its endless acoustic draw power. This release is no different.
The sound spectrum on this cuts production will place your mind in a euphoric stasis of appreciation as you marvel at its vastness. Now add in Graham Malice’s voice which creates a warmth within the listener that forces the ears to gravitate towards the music like a moth to the flame.
The final piece to this musical puzzle is the mixing of it. Any artist or individual within the music industry will quickly come to the realization that a good, or bad, mix can make or break a song. Thankfully, here, it’s seamless. The way in which Graham’s voice melts and blends with the production is masterful, and in the process, it creates a symbiotic relationship between those pieces in which they feed off each other’s qualities and energy. That musical acumen on Graham’s behalf brings together the multiple dimensions within the song’s sound realm to contrast beautifully. Make sure you listen to this piece down below.
