Saven & Drisco - It's a Vibe

This mix-tape is an example of good musical chemistry. Saven and Drisco brought out a real gem here, complimenting each other’s styles perfectly. The project title definitely does the tape sufficient service, this music is for sure a vibe.

Often throughout the tape Saven is the one to kick off proceedings, dropping his unedited, lower toned voice on the track and spitting exciting lyrical flows. Then halfway through most of the projects tracks, Drisco will chime in to add a more melodic and softer spoken tone, his lyrics being the one thing that doesn’t soften. This interplay and swapping of musical styles brings out the best in the productions energy and creates an immersive listening experience, an example of this can be seen in my personal favorite ‘Tick Tock.’

The production has nine different credited producers, yet the tape has a surprising cohesiveness. This is probably due to Drisco and Saven’s careful beat selection. The projects sound is littered with electric synths, soft claps, well timed hi-hats and softer ended drums.
