Sawyerjeorge is a name which unfortunately isn’t yet widespread. His recent single “RRN” however, signals to those that have lent their ears to his music that Sawyerjeorge could quickly become a big name in the indie hip-hop scene.
RRN (Feat. LAKEWUD) speaks on the widespread targeting, abuse, and oppression of Black people by those in political and policing power. However, his statement delves slightly deeper and speaks on the growing sentiment that if things don’t change soon, people will start resorting to more drastic measures.
The overall cadence with which Sawyerjeorge delivers his verses makes it easy to digest the message RRN comes with. This song isn’t just “deep” however, but also very much so a hit record. The cherry on top of RRN is LAKEWUD coming on with a loaded and heavy-handed verse to make sure the song ends on a high note.
