Buddy - Hollyhood
Listening to Buddy can only be described as the feeling of having a fun ass convo with friends. After a huge year in 2018, in which he released his debut album Harlan & Alondra, Buddy is finally back this year with a brand new single for his album coming out spring of next year. Hollyhood, the Kent Jamz assisted track produced by Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II, is a fresh take on the classic west coast sound that Buddy has channeled in the past, and his inflection while rapping over the simple beat will have you smiling and singing along to Buddy’s feel-yourself bars.

I got to see Buddy live when he opened for Vince Staples’ “Smile, You’re on Camera” tour and he was instantly buddies with everyone in the crowd. It was phenomenal to experience how much you felt this neighborhoodly energy reverberate throughout the audience, and it truly takes a gifted individual to make that happen.
