Local Radio: Coast Contra, Luna Luna, Femdot...
Local radio is back blessing your ears for another week courtesy of some of the most talented artists across the states.
Coast Contra consists of West Coast twin brothers, Ras and Taj, Colombian born Rio Loz, and North Philly native Eric Jamal. The group defines Coast Contra as “a universe within your universe where anything is possible”, and their sound most definitely conveys that. Blending soul, boom bap, trap, and latin influences, the group does it all effortlessly. “My Lady” is a modern jazz rap masterpiece featuring a minimalistic yet captivating beat while each verse brings something new keeping the listener engaged from start to finish.
Chicago has been building a reputation for pumping out soulful hip-hop, with artists like Chance the Rapper, Saba, and Noname. It seems like Femdot is next in line for the spotlight. Femdot has been pumping out high quality work for a few years now, and seems set for a breakthrough, as he is in “Album Mode” according to one of the tracks in the two-piece he just released. “Bishop Ford” showcases Femdot’s lyrical prowess.
This week we also have new music from Dallas’ homegrown talent Luna Luna, who just released their label debut single, “Golden”, which features Pretty Boy Aaron. Topaz Jones’ “Black Tame'' is also featured from his most recent album, Don’t Go Tellin’ Your Momma. In addition, we also feature new music from Jess Connelly, Zuli Jr., Willum Maindo, 808vic, Chris Patrick, Ivy Sol, and more.
